The Irkutsk Rotary seeks funding of $1100 to augment the growing band at the Angarsk Correctional Colony for Minors.

1.  Roland E-09 Synthesizer to augment the Keyboard (above) purchased last year

2.  Electric Guitar

3.  Bass Guitar

Total Cost:  26283, a little over $1100 at 26 rubles per dollar.

In December 2006, the Irkutsk Rotary and an annonymous donor provided $1140 worth of equiment as shown above.  It already has helped.  The Rotary Club of Irkutsk has been sponsoring the correctional colony for minors for two years.  They have collected books and video tapes for the inmates who are 14 to 21 years old.  The art director felt they needed new instruments to replace the instruments that were over 30 years old, so you see Lida S. presenting the instruments.  Composer and pianist Rotarian Vladimir Volchenko helped choose the instruments, and Rotarian Colonel Vladimir Badashkeev announcing the winner in the colony show.  The young man in the white shirt was due to leave the colony a few days after the show, and was offered a job at the art center when he is out of the colony.
